Congrats to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (dir. Peter Ramsey, Robert Persichetti Jr., & Rodney Rothman) for winning Best Animated Feature Film at the 2019 Golden Globes.
Got spolied but oh well! Fuck yes!!!
No worries! I’m here to help out. [[Skip past if you want but the background right here helps a bit]]
Here’s my suggested reading order. BUT, before we start, these stories can be read in a slightly different order, I liked this order for the most part but you’ll be reading things out of chronological order sometimes. But you cannot actually read it in chronological order unless you want to switch back in forth in the middle of an issue. Which makes it all the more confusing but the writers put in notes if you want to do so. Reminder, since time travel takes place take that into consideration because it will be very confusing. You’ll recognize a few spider-people like the one where Drake Bell voices him. References to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are in Spider-Verse #2 as “guy from Sea Biscuit” and “guy from the Social Network” you’ll understand.
Prepare for a bit of heavy stuff, it gets a bit much sometimes. But not too bad. I put some background on some things in the case you can’t figure it out. Message me if you have any questions.
Superior Spider-Man (2013): #32
Superior Spider-Man (2013): #33

Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 (2014): #7-8
Background: This is where I got confused, but I think you can figure it out. Shoot me a message if you did get confused though lol.
Edge of Spider-Verse (2014): #1-5
Background: Offers origin stories of different spider-people. Doesn’t really matter when you read it, except before maybe like two handfuls of the issues before the ending.

Spider-Verse: #1
Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 (2014): #10

Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 (2014): #14-15
Congrats! You’ve reached the end. Hopefully, your head doesn’t hurt, I lost track of the spider-people sometimes. The marvel wiki is always there to help because legit, it’s pretty good to get a glance over on some confusing things. I may change up the reading order in the future but I think this is good to go. If you have any suggestions let me know.
Edit: Just in case you’re confused this is the story (It’s quite literally just called Spider-Verse) where all the spider-people come together. That’s all.
